RECIPE: The Assembly House: How to make our famous Triple Chocolate Scones!

Makes 12 – 14 scones

  • 500g self-raising flour
  • 70g cocoa
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 70g light brown sugar
  • 140g butter
  • 75g white chocolate chips
  • 75g milk chocolate chips
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 200 ml whole milk
  1. Mix the flour, cocoa, baking powder, sugar and butter to a bread crumb like consistency, whisk the eggs, milk and vanilla to make a wet mix.
  2. Combine the wet mix with the dry until mixture comes together and is soft but not wet.
  3. Roll out mixture to one inch thick and cut into two inch rounds.
  4. Turn over and allow to rest on a greaseproof-lined baking dish for up to 20 minutes.
  5. Brush with egg wash and bake for 12 minutes at 190C/Gas Mark 5/375F
  6. Allow to cool and enjoy with lashings of Nutella and clotted cream.
