What is Brigadeiro?
Marcela Da Costa from Emporium Norwich explains.
Say - BREE-GAH-DAY-RO.
Brigadeiro is a traditional Brazilian style artisanal chocolate confectionery with a soft, velvet and creamy texture.
In any confectionery shop in Brazil, you will find Brigadeiros to sell, it is the most POP sweet you will find there.
It is basically made with condensed milk, chocolate and butter. And their preparation involves cooking and cooling them at the correct temperatures to have an incredible texture.
Nothing will go wrong with a Brigadeiro in hand, I see an explosion of joy just thinking about it. One of the main reasons is because we use chocolates in our recipe. And chocolate contains a substance called phenylethylamine that stimulates the production of serotonin, a brain substance that gives you a feeling of pleasure and calm, associated with a feeling of happiness.
Have you ever eaten any Brigadeiro in your life?
